Meeting of the Minds – special invitation to a unique event hosted by Agilent Technologies
Agilent recognizes the next generation of scientists is key to proteomics research and invites you to attend a special "Meeting of the Minds" cocktail event providing early career scientists the opportunity to meet and mix with today’s proteomics leaders. This is a rare opportunity for you to mingle and talk personally with many of the HUPO keynote speakers and dignitaries in a relaxed and informal manner.
There has been overwhelming support from proteomics leaders around the world who are keen to participate in this event and share their knowledge and experiences.
This "invitation only" complimentary event will be held Monday 20 September in the Bayside Gallery at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre with stunning views over Darling Harbour. Drinks and canapés will be served from 6.00pm - 8.00pm and dress code is smart casual.

SoAPS Student Dinner

SoAPS (Students of Australasian Proteomics Society) is a student society dedicated to proteomic and protein science students which aims to increase communication, broaden the knowledge base and promote and foster collaborations between students. We have organized a fun and relaxed night for the students attending the HUPO 2010 conference. Take this opportunity to network and share ideas with your colleagues and talk to guest speakers. Seats are strictly limited, preference will be given to people who reply early.
"Young Guns" Early Career Researcher Symposium #16

In an effort to recognise the outstanding quality of research undertaken by HUPO early career researchers, a new HUPO Congress event has been launched this year. Six (6) selected "Young Guns" finalists will present 12 minute oral presentations (with 5 minutes of questions from floor) based upon abstracts received from all Early Career Researchers. Each "Young Gun" will receive an award plaque recognizing their research achievement. For clarity, Early Career Researchers are defined as those who have received their PhDs 5yrs before the Congress (i.e., post September 19th, 2005). "Young Guns" should indicate their intention to apply by ticking the appropriate box during registration. Admission to view the "Young Guns" Symposium session is included for all full registered delegates.

Proteomics Idol

In a new HUPO Congress event, finalists in the Student Poster Awards Competition will compete for prizes in "Proteomics Idol." The best 10 posters selected from the Student posters will be given the opportunity to present short orals (max 3 slides, 5 mins) about the impact of their data in a session to be held in the Bayside Auditorium B. presentations will be followed by a discussion with a prestigious panel of Proteomics Idol judges. Both judges and audience will then vote to decide who becomes the "2010 HUPO Proteomics Idol."
Admission to view the Proteomics Idol session is included for all full registered delegates and should be a lot of fun. |
